Elevated on a hillside overlooking the links golf course and Lake Taupo, The Lodge at Kinloch is located in the heart of the North Island; 30 minutes drive away from the neapest airport at Taupo – and approximately 3 and a half hours drive away from Auckland, 1 hour drive from Rotorua or 2 hours drive away from the winelands of Hawke's Bay. Air New Zealand operate 45 minute flights between Auckland and Taupo, or the major regional airport of Rotorua is located 1 hour's drive away.

The Kiwi architect Andrew Patterson drew inspriation for the design of the lodge from Kinloch Castle in Scotland . The interior design is strikingly modern, with a mix of rich velvets, leather, and brass in the Great Room, and chic marble and floor-to-ceiling windows in the villas. Striking chain mail chandeliers, massive fireplaces, gilt-edged mirrors and slate floors invoke the feel of a Scottish castle, yet with a decidedly 21st century twist.
A short walk or golf buggy ride from the lodge are ten luxury villas designed to harmonise with the idyllic natural setting of this lakeside links golf course. The villas all boast breathtaking views over the golf course and lake with stunning designer features - huge log fireplaces, sensational marble bathrooms and secluded furnished terraces, with lavish furnishings of Egyptian cotton sheets, New Zealand handmade rugs and Nellie Tier toiletries.
