ROOMS, SUITES & COTTAGE

Greenhill Lodge was built in 1898 as a grand homestead on a 3,300 acre sheep and cattle station. Elegantly and sympathetically refurbished to accommodate all modern requirements, Greenhill is a unique example of the pioneering spirit of the era.

Greenhill offers five elegant guestrooms with king beds and expansive bathrooms. Most rooms open to wide verandahs and beautiful views over the gardens. British royalty has stayed in one of the rooms.

A self contained two bedroom cottage is separate to the lodge and accessed from a private driveway, with spectacular rural views. The Cottage has two en suite bedrooms, one with a Queen sized bed, the other Twin beds, a sitting room, kitchen and private deck.

The lodge showcases food and fine wines from around the region – sourcing the best local produce to create a hearty 'country cuisine' menu. Enjoy breakfast on your terrace, gourmet picnics and four-course lavish dinners.

The old stables of the homestead have been converted into a gym or guests may enjoy the swimming pool and seating area outside. The homestead building also has a very interesting feature – a 3 storey viewing turret, with a small sitting room complete with viewing telescope. The room and the balcony outside offer spectacular panoramic views of the Hawke's Bay countryside.

HIGHLIGHTS

Hawke's Bay is the oldest wine growing region in New Zealand – there is no doubt that the region has a greater capacitiy than any other in the country to produce a wide range of classical varieties. On the fertile plains between Napier and Hastings lies a treasure trove of award-winning vineyards. The region is also widely known as 'the food bowl of New Zealand' for the variety of fruit and vegetables, meats, cheeses, artisan products and speciality foods on offer.

The famous Art Deco town of Napier is well worth a visit – nowhere else in the world can you see such a variety of Art Deco buildings. This is complemented by Marine Parade, a glorious waterfront esplanade fringed with pines.

The nearby promontory of Cape Kidnappers is the largest and most spectacular mainland nesting place of gannets in the world. Cape Kidnappers championship golf course is consistently ranked in the world's top 40 courses.
