Spend seven days exploring some of Kenya’s favourite destinations: visit one of the largest areas for wildlife spotting in the country, Tsavo West National Park before you encounter the large elephant herds of Amboseli National Park against the backdrop of Mt Kilimanjaro. Travelling in your 4x4 Land Cruiser, you stop at Lake Naivasha, before heading to the magical Masai Mara, the symbol of East African safari adventures. If you are looking for a classic Kenyan safari, travelling to its most-loved destinations, this safari is for you.

  • Day 1

    Tsavo West National Park
We will meet you in Kenya’s capital, Nairobi, for a short briefing about your upcoming safari. Then, it’s time to hit the road in your 4x4 Toyota Land Cruiser and embark on your safari across Kenya. Driving towards Tsavo West National Park, you will leave the hustle and bustle of the capital behind; within kilometres of leaving the city, nature takes charge and skyscrapers change into shrubs and open grassland. You will arrive in Tsavo West in the afternoon, just in time for your first game drive. You’ll be surprised how many animals you can spot on only your first day! Tsavo West is one of the biggest national parks in Kenya and home to not only the Big Five, but to more than 600 different bird species and the rare Hunter’s hartebeest.

    Insider's Tip:
Mzima Springs is at the north end of Tsavo West. Water from the Chyulu Hills runs from beneath the lava ridge and forms several natural pools. Fringed with palm trees, these pools are popular watering holes for birds and African wildlife. You can also watch the hippos bathing underwater here.

Arguably the best spot to fully view the Majestic Mount Kilimanjaro. Be sure to have a look either early morning or early evening. This is when the mountain is best visible!

It is best known as host to the “greatest show on earth”, the Great Migration of millions of wildebeest and zebras, following the rains in search of fresh green grass. But no matter what time of the year you visit the Mara, on today’s afternoon game drive, you can spot elegant giraffes, proud lions, the world’s fastest land animal, the cheetah, and many other species.

You’re in luck and can enjoy both today. A full day in the Mara means you have enough time to explore different corners of the reserve including a stop at the Mara River. When the Great Migration passes through Kenya, the river is the site of dramatic spectacles as wildebeest and zebras plunge into the waters where hungry crocodiles await them. Spend the day enjoying the small moments, which make every safari a unique experience and apply your newly acquired knowledge about the flora and fauna of Kenya.

    Insider's Tip:
The Masai Mara is not only known for the world famous Migration river crossings. The scenery and abundant wildlife is second to none. Why not change up your point of view and join a once in a lifetime Hot Air Balloon Safari over the plains?
