Make a quick stop in the town of Nanyuki which marks the border between the southern and the northern hemisphere – you have now crossed the equator. As the landscape gets drier and drier, you are approaching the first destination of your safari: the Samburu Game Reserve. The arid and dry landscape gives Samburu its own unique character. In the afternoon, you will embark on your first game drive in the reserve, looking for elephants, crocodiles and hippos along the banks of the Ewaso Ngiro River.
