Indulge yourself in a luxury eco-lodge set beside the Pacuare River and experience the unique activities in a pristine nature environment. Let's get enchanted by the breath-taking vistas of the majestic Arenal volcano and the abundance of wildlife!

  • Day 1

Upon arrival, you will be met at the airport and transferred to Grane de Oro for checking in.

  • Day 2

After breakfast, journey to the Pacuare Rainforest through the spectacular Braulio Carrillo Rainforest National Park (on a shared basis). Aboard inflatable rafts, you'll experience an exhilarating ride on this wild and scenic river, which courses through a tropical wilderness of dense vegetation and steep gorges that rise majestically above its banks.

You'll be surrounded by nature in its purest and most primitive state, stay at Pacuare Lodge - a two-story jungle lodge housing rustic but comfortable dining facilities on the first floor, and plenty of relaxing hammocks in an open-air second floor lounge. Electricity-free, the lodge provides the ultimate in environmentally friendly comfort and relaxation. Each bungalow has a private porch, bathroom with running water, and comfortable beds with fresh linens.

You may enjoy one of the activities in the afternoon, such as:
    • Pacuare Canopy Adventure
    • Canyoning El Tesorito Creek
    • Cabecar Indigenous Hike
    • Ancient Trail & Hidden Waterfall Hike
    • Early Morning Birdwatching
    • Rural Experience
    • Sustainability Tour

These activities have to be booked directly at Pacuare Lodge in line with the schedule that is set each day of the week. The activities operate with a minimum of 2 people and a maximum of 8.
    (Breakfast, lunch and dinner included)

  • Day 3-4

You’ll wake up to bird song and the soothing sound of the river nearby. Then head over to the main lodge for a delicious breakfast of home-made bread, tropical fruits, yogurt, eggs, pancakes, cereal and juice and coffee.

The lodge employs a resident naturalist guide who will provide you with unique insights into the plant and animal world. Choose from exciting tours that include guided hikes through an emerald rainforest, the Cabecar Indian tour - where visitors may participate in a cultural exchange with a shaman, and our Adventure Canopy Tour – where visitors glide amid a tropical rainforest canopy. Other options will be scheduled according to lodge daily activities.
    (Breakfast, lunch and dinner included)

  • Day 5

After breakfast, we launch the rafts again for the last part of our trip (or transfer by land in 4WD if you prefer). Rafting becomes even more exciting today as you use the skills and experience gained on this trip. Your guides will stop the rafts along the journey and lead you up paths and side streams that open onto pristine waterfalls and natural water slides, where you can swim if you wish.
At the end of the tour, you will be provided with a private transfer to Arenal.

Arenal’s perfectly symmetrical shape makes it a sightseer’s dream, while its abundance of outdoor activities makes it an easy place to check things off your “must-do in Costa Rica” list.
Enjoy your free time at Arenal Nayara Hotel.
    (Breakfast and lunch included)

  • Day 6

In the morning, you will be transferred to Monteverde and hike through the well-marked trails of the Cloud Forest Reserve. Then enjoy an afternoon adventure at the Sky Trek Zipline & Tram tour. This is a system of seven platforms suspended above the ground in the midst of tree boughs.

Zip lines attached from one platform to another will allow you to slide with the use of special equipment. In the Sky Tram explore the world famous Cloud Forest of Monteverde in a 5,249 feet ride that will lead you up to the Costa Rica Continental Divide.
    (Breakfast included)

  • Day 7

The Arenal Volcano has been active since 1968, constantly ejecting gases, water, fumaroles and explosions with pyroclastic material emissions. Sometimes the eruptions are accompanied by powerful thunder. The lava flows come out of the crater at a temperature up to 1,000 degrees Centigrade. As the lava flows down it slowly cools off. A short hike in one of the trails close to the volcano area will give us the chance to enjoy some of the surrounding forest.

At the hot springs you can enjoy a healthy and relaxing soak. It is also possible to see the Arenal Volcano erupting from a comfortable spa.
    (Breakfast and dinner included)

  • Day 8

Transfer to San Jose for your departure flight.
    (Breakfast included)
